Contraceptive Pill Checks Posted or Updated on 5 Sep 2023

These routine six monthly checks,including issue of the prescription, are now carried out by our Practice Nurses instead of the doctors.

A routine Nurse apppointment should be booked in the usual way.

We expect that this change will make it easier for patients to attend for both early and late appointments thereby improving access for this particular service as well as freeing up some GP appointments/time for more involved problems.

Please note that patients who wish to start taking using this option for contraception or are having any  'problems' wth their existing pill should continue to make a GP appointment in the usual way.
