WebGP is a suite of online patient services developed by the Hurley Group. The product gives patients access to advice and care via their own GP practice website.

The services are as follows:

• Symptom checker;

• Self-help guides and videos about the most common conditions seen in general practice;

• Sign-posting to alternative appropriate services; pharmacy advice and links to the NHS 111 service;

• E-consults – the process in which patients complete any of over a hundred condition-based questionnaires on the practice website, to request advice or treatment from their practice GPs.

The product has been developed to be a safe and easy way to access remote healthcare. The patient has 24/7 access to resources, and can save time by not having to attend an appointment at their surgery, whilst still maintaining continuity of care with their doctor and GP practice. Evidence has shown that patient outcomes can also be improved through the comprehensive information taking and early intervention that WebGP can offer.
